ShiftKey provides independent professionals and facilities with the freedom and flexibility to do their best work on their own terms.

We emphasize fairness and data-driven dependability, ensuring confidence not only between facilities and professionals, but between ShiftKey and its users.
Stability in business and balance in the lives of professionals translates to increased productivity, better mental health and a positive relationship with work.
We provide licensed professionals and facilities with enough options to make qualified decisions and exert more independence via modern, efficient technology.
Our platform leverages advanced but accessible technology to provide complete visibility and transparency, and to eliminate costly red tape.
By uniting facilities and professionals in a single community, we transform an adversarial relationship into one of understanding and mutual respect.
Where We Started
In 2016, Tom Ellis introduced an alternative to outdated scheduling practices and costly staffing agencies. With ShiftKey, Tom and his innovative team put decision-making into the hands of facilities and independent professionals, connecting them directly in a true digital marketplace, and making a profound human impact.

ShiftKey’s scalability transcends healthcare and is poised to revolutionize the entire licensed professional workforce. We are embracing and expanding the future of work, empowering people to work on their own terms and reinvesting in the community.
Where We Are Today
Today, we engage hundreds of thousands of licensed professionals and position facilities to focus on growth. It’s a transformative time, driven by increasingly efficient technology and a strong sense of community. We‘re determined to introduce our model to more industries in need, and to keep advocating for dedicated individuals.

Giving Back
ShiftKey was founded to transform access and integrity in the workplace, but our mission extends beyond that. We’re in business to make a profound human impact.
Every day, healthcare professionals and facilities use the ShiftKey platform to care for their neighbors — in hospitals, clinics and senior care communities across the country. Their work keeps local communities healthy, and that impact inspires us to give back in our own way.
Our diverse team is committed to giving back through homegrown partnerships with organizations like Annie’s Place, Feed the City and For Oak Cliff in Dallas and Szlachetna Paczka in Warsaw, Poland. We hold food and toy drives throughout the year, and we’re dedicated to lending a hand whenever we can.
