Tiffany Murokozi, ShiftKey’s Director of Project Management, was featured by Fairygodboss in their “I Love My Job” series. Watch the video or read the article to find out why Tiffany thinks ShiftKey is such a great place to grow and make a difference.
When you walk into the building at ShiftKey, there is an energy in the air; you see people who are excited, passionate and committed to ShiftKey and their work.
In the around two years since she joined ShiftKey, Tiffany has grown from being the sole person on her team to being a people manager. And, throughout it all, she has benefited from what she calls the “vibrant, caring, connected, passionate, and professional,” culture at ShiftKey.
What do you find most exciting about your work at ShiftKey?
Helping teams strategize about bringing new products or services to life and then helping them organize as a project team to then execute on those ideas and strategies.
What is your favorite thing about ShiftKey?
Everyone's ideas matter. I've been fortunate enough to see ideas come to life. People have great ideas and leadership is very open to ideas. I've seen simple ideas come to life and become products or new services, and the entire organization will rally around a great idea to make sure it comes to fruition.
How does ShiftKey support you?
At ShiftKey, I feel like I matter. My personal life and my professional life matter, and this is shown every day. At the end of the day, profit matters to all companies, but, here at ShiftKey, profit does not matter more than people.
For example, my direct manager makes sure that there's a balance between my personal life and my professional life. And, if at any moment I feel overwhelmed or something is out of balance, my manager will make sure that I take a moment to just step back and get things aligned in order to take care of me. And my family matters just as much as I do. This support is prominent throughout the organization, from the CEO on down.
What advice would you give to other women looking to work at ShiftKey?
Just go for it. Find a position that you think you qualify for, take the step to apply, and then have confidence knowing that you will be supported, your voice will be heard, and you will make a difference.
